Analysis by the House of Commons Library found that 1.3 million people in May faced four week waits – compared with 912,000 a year earlier. The research showed that 4.8% of practice appointments involved waits of at least four weeks – while in Gloucestershire and Sheffield the proportion rose close to 10%.

Improving Patient Access
As a practice we are processing and responding to approximately 120-140 clinical requests per day. That equates to 700 per week. Most problems can be solved within the practice. With working in this way our waiting times to see a GP routinely have come down from 3-4 weeks to 10 days.
